Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best recognized for her performances as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Originally from Worthington Ohio, she quit high school in order to relocate in Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. The actress landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001 despite struggling financially. The role she played of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) with her. Grace quit the show in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in films, having appeared in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and, opposite the Liam Neeson character Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. She reprised her role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the Lost series in the final two episodes as Shannon. In 2013, she was in the six-season of Californication. She plays Faith who is both an avid stargazer as well as a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she is the daughter and elder sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in her father's films and appeared with her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Her next appearance was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for an Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two movies were critically acclaimed. The actress gained more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercial films that she was a part of in 2006. Nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part in Crazy Heart, (2009). In the following years she was a part of comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012.
