Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age five she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she attended the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor when she was six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach or school shows before she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times Emma as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first screen appearance took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. It was also the most successful film during 2001. Its opening weekend and day sales were record-breaking. The critics were impressed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's acting "amazing". In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film and was awarded an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in the Feature Film.
